Installation and Application

  • Allows the construction of permeable parking areas for occasional or regular use, residential parking areas, pedestrian walkways, etc.
  • When combined with URBANIT® pavers, URBANIT® grass grids offer extensive design flexibility in urban environments or public-access facilities (ERP), by combining vegetated surfaces with wheel tracks created using URBANIT® pavers.
  • Allows the delineation of parking spaces (disabled parking bays, electric vehicle spaces, etc.) and traffic circulation areas in combination with URBANIT® pavers.
  • Can be used for vehicle traffic with an axle load of up to 20 tonnes and for fire access roads.
  • Provides accessibility for persons with reduced mobility in accordance with the recommendations of the decree of 20 April 2017 and our installation requirements.
  • The URBANIT® grass grid is designed for occasional use (occasional parking) or regular use (residential parking). It is not designed for frequent or intensive traffic by light or heavy vehicles.
  • Do not use with hot-mix asphalt.
  • Can be cut using an angle grinder. Empty grids may be driven on to facilitate the unloading of topsoil. Installation on slopes up to 2%.

1. What is the load-bearing capacity of Jouplast® grids?

All our grids are strong enough to cope with the load imposed by reasonable traffic volumes. Alveplac® and Greenplac® have a maximum load bearing capacity of 600 tonnes/m2 when filled with gravel or grass.

2. Are Jouplast® stabilisation grids eco-friendly?

All our modules are made from 100% recycled polyolefin, polyethylene and polypropylene. This means that 100% of our plastic raw materials originate as textile industry waste. We use no virgin raw materials. All our honeycomb stabilisation modules come with a 10-year warranty when laid in full accordance with our installation instructions and our general terms and conditions of purchase. Since they are laid with no foundation, they impose no environmental impact, and can be easily removed at any time.
