

ALVEPLAC Gravel Stabilisation Single Mat
We are going to present a 100m² construction site for a magnificent traditional Norman building.
Our Alveplac® gravel stabilization plate with integrated geotextile has been chosen for this private landscaping project and the creation of a gravel access road.
For a pedestrian walkway, we recommend choosing gravel with a grain size of 5/15 or 8/16 so that it is dense enough to properly fill the cells of our plates while allowing for water drainage.
For the use of our Alveplac® stabilizing plate, you do not need to purchase a geotextile as it is directly integrated into the product through an injection welding process. This ensures that the gravel stays in place and prevents the growth of weeds brought by birds.
Stabilized gravel should be laid with a preliminary excavation of 10 cm for a pedestrian walkway. For a driveway, we recommend excavating the soil to a depth of 20 to 30 cm.
For the longevity of your outdoor arrangement, we recommend laying a sub-base or leveling sand bed with a grain size between 0 and 5, which you level with a screed. The thickness of the layer should be between 1 and 5 cm maximum. This foundation layer will ensure proper soil drainage and stability of the installation.
We can reasonably estimate the cost of a gravel courtyard for a private individual, if self-installed, to be between €15 and €30 per square meter. For this approximately 100m² driveway, you should therefore budget at least €1500 for materials, including gravel and cellular paving grids, which seems to be a very reasonable budget for a durable, aesthetic, and ecological arrangement. Your gravel driveway will also be accessible to people with reduced mobility (PRM), which is an additional advantage.
