We offer two types of finishes for terraces with slabs on pedestals. You can choose either a terrace edge finish with cut tiles and our slab plate and side cladding support. The other option for a slab terrace is to use our finishing profile.
The first solution has the advantage of being aesthetically in line with the rest of the terrace. However, it requires the right equipment to cut the slabs to finish the terrace edging. A good water saw is necessary. This can be a tricky task when temperatures are below freezing, whereas installing a terrace on pedestals is entirely possible in freezing weather. You also need to be very precise to ensure that the cuts are accurate.
The second solution, using the finishing profile, has the advantage of being aesthetically pleasing, practical and requiring no tile cutting, so no special tools are needed. It is easy to install.
For wooden terraces, it is possible to finish the sides using only our side cladding support.
Finishing your terrace on pedestals depends mainly on whether or not you want a finished look. To help you imagine a terrace with or without side finishing, imagine looking at your terrace on pedestals and the entire installation from the side. It’s not very attractive and doesn’t look professional. Side finishing also allows you to hide cables and pipes under the pedestal installation. Finishing the edge of your terrace is that little extra touch that makes all the difference, just like a professional would do.
All of our solutions can be adapted to any type of structure, such as a balcony, patio or sloping ground. For sloping ground, choose the right self-levelling pedestal to follow the slope properly.
For your terrace slabs on pedestals, the choice of one type of side finish over another depends mainly on your taste in outdoor design.
For a finish similar to light or beige slabs, such as imitation travertine, choose the pearl white RAL 1013 profile.
For a finish with darker slabs closer to grey, choose the anthracite grey RAL 7016 profile.
If you prefer an industrial or even metallic look, we recommend choosing the aluminium grey profile range.
If you prefer to keep the same colour as your tiles on the rest of your terrace, then we recommend opting for a finish with cut tiles and the use of slab plates and side cladding supports.
Yes, terrace finishing profiles, slab plates and side cladding supports are compatible with sloped terraces and uneven ground.
In reality, it is not our finishing accessories that adapt to the slope, but the decking pedestal. By adjusting the pedestal, it is possible to compensate for a slope or uneven ground and thus finish your decking on pedestals using our finishing profiles or side cladding support and slab plate.
However, we strongly advise you to prepare your ground properly in order to obtain a flat and even surface without any unpleasant surprises in the form of poorly controlled slopes. For more details, watch our video on ground preparation.
