1. What is Fixego® secret fixing used for?
Fixego® is an innovative invisible fixing system designed for installing wooden decking boards without visible screws. Fixego® provides an attractive, uniform finish and extends the life of your deck. UV, frost, and tear resistant, it is particularly suitable for renovation or board replacement projects.
2. How to use Fixego® secret fixing ?
Fixego® must be used for wooden decking projects that comply with French DTU 51.4 standards. It is fixed directly to wooden joists using screws.
Once installed, it holds the boards in place, creating regular spacing between them and promoting air circulation and water drainage.
We recommend using wooden joists made from the same type of wood as the decking boards. We do not recommend using Fixego® with wood that is knotty or unstable, such as acacia.
We do not advise using Fixego® on joists less than 45 mm wide.
3. Which decking boards are compatible with the Fixego® solution?
Fixego® is not suitable for composite boards or wood species that are knotty or unstable, such as acacia.
Before installation, check that the screws provided are compatible with the wood species used, as some species are not suitable.
4. How long does it take to install a deck with Fixego®?
Installing a deck with Fixego® takes approximately 10 to 15% longer than traditional installation methods. The initial installation requires greater precision and therefore takes a little longer. However, preparing and installing the boards takes the same amount of time.
