1. Why is a neat terrace finish important?
The way you choose to finish a terrace built on riser pedestals depends primarily on whether or not you want a neat finished look. To help you visualise what a terrace without a finished side looks like, imagine the side view of your riser pedestal terrace and its exposed components… The appearance is not very attractive, and it certainly doesn’t look very professional. 2. Which finish should you choose for your riser pedestal terrace?
The choice of edge finish for your riser pedestal terrace depends primarily on your landscaping preferences.
- For a look compatible with light-coloured or beige paving, such as a faux travertine, for example, the preference might be a RAL 1013 Oyster White profile.
- For a look compatible with darker paving closer to grey, a RAL7016 Anthracite Grey profile might be preferable.
- If you prefer an industrial or even metallic look, our advice would be to choose from the grey aluminium profile range.
- If you prefer to match the colour of your paving to the rest of your terrace, we recommend that you opt for a cut tile edge finish and use the paved side finishing plate and paved terrace side cladding support.
3. Is it possible to finish the edges of a terrace built on sloping or uneven ground?
Yes, our terrace edge finishing profiles, paved side finishing plates and paved terrace side cladding supports are all suitable for use with terraces on sloping or uneven ground. In practice, it is not the finishing accessories that adapt to the slope, but the paved terrace riser pedestal. Adjusting the height of the riser pedestal makes it possible to compensate for a slope or uneven ground and to finish the edges of your terrace using our finishing profiles, paved terrace side cladding support and paved side finishing plate. However, we strongly advise you to prepare the ground thoroughly to create a level, even surface and avoid any unpleasant surprises in terms of poorly corrected slopes.
