Installation and Application

This riser pedestal is intended for use only on uneven ground or an existing concrete slab. The terrace can be finished neatly using the paved side finishing plate. See installation instructions.

CLEMAN® riser pedestals are compatible with all paving formats. At least one riser pedestal should be positioned at each corner of the paving slab.

Please refer to the paving/ceramic tile manufacturer’s recommendations to decide whether or not additional riser pedestals may be required. The paving used must be self-supporting and compliant with French classification T7, T11 or F+.

a question?

Our landscaping experts have the answers

1. What is the Cleman® self-levelling 40/55 riser pedestal used for?

The Cleman® self-levelling 40/55 riser pedestal is designed and used to create tiled, ceramic or paved terraces for pedestrian use. Its self-levelling mechanism compensates for uneven ground and gradients of up to 5% to facilitate stable installation on irregular surfaces.

2. How is the Cleman® self-levelling 40/55 riser pedestal used?

The Cleman® self-levelling 40/55 riser pedestal can be used on uneven ground or an existing concrete slab. Its three-stage adjustment system (pre-setting using the driver bit, manual setting using the screw adjuster, and final adjustment using the special adjustment wrench) guarantees fast and precise installation. A riser pedestal must be positioned under each corner of each paving slab, in accordance with the recommendations of the manufacturer.

3. How many Cleman® 40/55 riser pedestals are needed to install a terrace?

The number of riser pedestals required depends on the format of the paving used and the total surface area:

  • For a 20 m² paved terrace using 60 x 60 cm paving slabs: 80 riser pedestals (4 riser pedestals per m²).
  • For a 40 m² paved terrace using 80 x 80 cm paving slabs: 280 riser pedestals (7 riser pedestals per m²).

The exact number of riser pedestals required may vary depending on the type of paving and the recommendations of the manufacturer.

4. What types of ground can this riser pedestal be installed on?

The Cleman® self-levelling 40/55 riser pedestal can be used on uneven ground or an existing concrete slab. It is not suitable for use on loose soil, and must be laid on a surface whose gradient does not exceed 5%.
