The Jouplast® paving lifter is a tool designed to easily lift the slabs of a terrace constructed using riser pedestals. It facilitates access to technical components beneath the terrace, such as riser pedestals, electrical cables or spotlights. This accessory is particularly useful for raised terrace care and maintenance.

The paved side finishing plate support kit can be used to raise the height below paving by between 65 and 105 mm. Stacking 2 extenders can then add a further 40 mm in height.

No, we recommend that only one height extender is used per patio pedestal. We do not recommend stacking of these height extenders, because doing so may compromise the stability and strength of the finished patio.

Building a deck on adjustable pedestals with exotic wood requires adhering to certain standards and regulations to ensure safety, durability, and compliance with local regulations. Here are the main points to consider:

Local Regulations:

• PLU (Local Urban Plan): Check with your local town hall for specific rules in your municipality. Some areas may have particular restrictions, especially regarding height and aesthetics.

Declarations and Permits:

• No formalities if the deck is less than 5 m² and at ground level.
• Prior declaration for a deck between 5 m² and 20 m².
• Building permit for a deck over 20 m² or elevated more than 60 cm.

Construction Standards:

• Minimum Height: A minimum height of 64 mm is recommended to ensure the deck’s stability.
• Accessibility for People with Reduced Mobility (PMR): If the deck needs to be accessible, comply with accessibility standards, such as a maximum slope of 6% for ramps and a minimum width of 90 cm.

Installation Techniques:

• Ground Stabilization: Use adjustable pedestals placed on a geotextile to prevent vegetation growth under the deck.
• Drainage: Ensure a minimum slope of 1 to 2% to drain rainwater and avoid stagnation.

Installation on slopes of up to 15% is possible for vehicular traffic (integrated anchoring system).

Installing a deck with Fixego® takes approximately 10 to 15% longer than traditional installation methods. The initial installation requires greater precision and therefore takes a little longer. However, preparing and installing the boards takes the same amount of time.

Whether you will need planning permission or not to create your raised terrace patio will depend, among other things, on the height, the surface, the type of patio you envision, and its location. We advise you to contact your city’s council before starting any construction work to check the local building codes that apply to your situation.

The best times to install a raised decking area are spring and autumn, as the temperatures are milder. However, installing a raised patio requires little ground preparation. It is therefore entirely possible to install it in the winter.

Jouplast snappable flat packers are easy to handle and adjust. They can also be used singly in one piece or snapped into 2 or 4 sections, stacked and/or combined with ridged wedges. They can be screwed, glued or screwed to provide maximum stability as work progresses.

The Jouplast® acoustic damper is a shock absorbing pad specifically designed for ceramic tiled, stone or concrete terraces built on riser pedestals. Made from recycled tyre rubber, it damps vibrations and reduces impact noise and resonances. Located on the head of the riser pedestal, it improves paving grip and helps to compensate for differences in paving thickness. The number of pedestals required depends on the format of the paving used and the total surface area:

• For a 20 m² paved terrace using 60 x 60 cm paving slabs: 80 pedestals (4 pedestals per m²).
• For a 40 m² paved terrace using 80 x 80 cm paving slabs: 280 pedestals (7 pedestals per m²).

The exact number of pedestals required may vary depending on the type of paving and the recommendations of the manufacturer.

MODULESCA® 93 cm steps must be installed on stabilised ground or suitable sub-structure (riser pedestals, legs (up to a maximum of 3 steps), bearers, etc.). Step assembly requires just two tools: a screwdriver and a spirit level. To calculate the number of steps you need, the recommendation is to use the MODULESCA® configurator.

Fixego® must be used for timber decking projects where DTU 51.4 compliance is required. The fastening system is screwed directly to the joists. Once in place, it secures the decking boards and spaces them regularly, while facilitating free air circulation and rainwater drainage. We recommend the use of joists made from the same type of timber as the decking boards. Using Fixego® with flexible or unstable timbers, such as acacia, is not recommended. We also advise against using Fixego® with joists less than 45mm wide.

To use the Jouplast® paving lifter, simply insert the hook into the space between the paving slabs (joints must be at least 3 mm wide), then gently lift the slab and grip firmly it with your other hand. It is important to remember that this tool must not be used to carry or move paving slabs, but only to lift them temporarily the purpose of accessing components beneath the terrace paving.

The Jouplast® paved side finishing plate support kit is designed to hold terrace-edge paving firmly in place and prevent tipping of terrace-edge paving by eliminating any overhang. It ensures the stability and safety of finished terrace installations. This kit can also be used with extenders for additional height adjustment, giving you even greater flexibility in completing your terrace project.

No, this extension is compatible only with Essentiel standard adjustable pedestals for paved terraces (minimum pedestal height: 40mm). It is not compatible with self-levelling pedestals.
