The self-adhesive tape is applied to the timber decking face of Profildeck® aluminium joists. For good adhesion, it must be applied only on a clean, dry surface. It is applied progressively as work on the structure advances. Its use extends the lifespan of the finished decking by protecting it more effectively against damp.

The Jouplast® joist support pad is located directly beneath the joists to stabilise the overall structure of the decking. It must be installed only on rigid, flat substrates. We recommend that you space joist support pads 50 cm apart to ensure effective support and stability. Joist support pads can be used alone or in combination with a joist protection tape to improve water resistance and extend the life of the timber structure.

The 3mm stabilising spacer provides stability for paving laid directly on aggregate or sand. Invisible after installation is complete, these spacers ensure that paving is perfectly flat, while its base holds individual paving slabs in place and prevents any movement. Its perforations allow water to drain to extend paving durability.

The hexagonal bit is used in the chuck of a screwdriver to pre-set riser pedestal heights prior to installation. Even after installation, riser pedestals can still be adjusted for height using a ratchet socket wrench, T-handle socket wrench or 10 mm open pipe wrench. Always use an electric screwdriver (with chuck) set to a moderate speed. For example, a screwdriver with 20 positions should be set to position 7.

MODULESCA® 20 cm step modules can be used to create straight or curving flights of garden steps. Depending on the slope of the terrain, tread dimensions and gradients may vary. For example the maximum terrain gradient for a straight flight of steps is 36° (70%). For curving steps, the external radius of a 20 cm module and a single step is 1,960 mm, with a maximum angle of rotation of 10°.

To ensure the permeability of a commercial paved parking lot, here are some recommendations:

• Use URBANIT® stabilizing plates: Our plates are designed to allow the natural infiltration of rainwater into the soil. They are ideal for creating permeable parking lots.
• Choice of pavers: Use smooth pavers without irregularities to ensure stable installation.
• Proper installation: To make your parking lot permeable, it is essential to properly prepare your soil and interlock the URBANIT plates to ensure optimal permeability.
• Regular maintenance: Keep the parking lot clean and ensure that the spaces between the pavers are not obstructed by debris. Excessive debris can prevent proper water infiltration.

By following these recommendations, you can create a paved parking lot that allows for effective rainwater management and helps reduce the risk of urban flooding.

It is possible to build a straight staircase or a quarter-turn staircase.

For a straight staircase:

• Minimum ground slope: 24.7° or 46%
• Minimum tread depth: 235 mm
• Maximum ground slope: 36° or 70%
• Maximum tread depth: 370 mm

For a curved quarter-turn staircase:

• Rotation axis: Center of the step
• Minimum inner radius: 570 mm
• Minimum outer radius: 1,530 mm
• Maximum step rotation angle: 13°

Note: The curved staircase can be assembled independently on either the right or left side using the module.

The spacing between pedestals will depend on the size of the slabs you are using.

As a general rule, one pedestal is needed at each corner of the slab.

For example, for 60 x 60 cm slabs, the pedestals should be spaced 60 cm apart in both directions.

For larger formats (such as 90 x 90 cm or 120 x 30 cm), it may be necessary to add a pedestal in the centre or along the sides to ensure proper support.

Always refer to the manufacturer’s recommendations for your slabs to determine the ideal spacing.

Jouplast® pedestals have a crush resistance of over 1 ton. However, the weight a wooden deck on pedestals can support doesn’t depend solely on the pedestals’ strength—it also depends on the type of wood used for the decking. We therefore recommend consulting your wood supplier for more precise information.

More generally, if you plan to place a heavy item on your pedestal deck, such as a hot tub, we suggest using our PROFILDECK® solution (aluminum joists), which allows for better weight distribution across the structure of your pedestal-mounted wooden deck.

The geotextile membrane separates the distinct sub-layers of the soil.. This makes it possible to separate sand from aggregate, for example. The geotextile membrane also prevents weeds from growing in the gaps between the gravel.

The way you choose to finish a terrace built on riser pedestals depends primarily on whether or not you want a neat finished look. To help you visualise what a terrace without a finished side looks like, imagine the side view of your riser pedestal terrace and its exposed components… The appearance is not very attractive, and it certainly doesn’t look very professional. Our terrace side finishing options also make it possible to hide cables and pipes beneath the raised terrace. Neat terrace edges are the finishing touch that makes all the difference and creates a professional appearance.

Jouplast snappable flat packers are used to pack out small gaps. Available in several thicknesses (2, 3 and 5 mm), they are ideal for adjusting joinery elements, compensating for irregularities and ensuring correct spacing between materials. Their snappable design makes them suitable for many different uses, and adaptable to meet the needs of each project. They provide excellent stability and compressive strength.

The Jouplast® square gripper/isolation mat is applied directly to the paved side finishing plate before the terrace paving is laid. It requires no mechanical fixing or adhesive, because its natural adhesion keeps it in place.

The number of riser pedestals required depends on the total area to be covered and the format of the paving used:

• For a 20 m² paved terrace using 60 x 60 cm paving slabs: approximately 80 riser pedestals (4 riser pedestals per m²).
• For a 40 m² paved terrace using 80 x 80 cm paving slabs: approximately 280 riser pedestals (7 riser pedestals/m²).

The recommendations of the paving manufacturer must be followed in order to calculate the precise number of riser pedestals required.

The number of riser pedestals required depends on the total area to be covered and the format of the paving used:

• For a 20 m² terrace paved with 60 x 60 cm ceramic tiles, 4 riser pedestals per m², so 80 riser pedestals in all.
• For a 40 m² terrace paved with 80 x 80 cm paving slabs, 7 riser pedestals per m², so 280 riser pedestals in all.

The precise calculation of the number of studs may vary depending on the type of covering and the recommendations of the manufacturer.

Yes, up to 4 joist support pads can be stacked to adjust the packing height to suit the specific needs of the project. Stacking makes it possible to compensate for ground irregularities and maintain optimum stability.

Use one 3mm intersection spacer at each corner of every paving slab to ensure even spacing. The tabs and baseplate are snappable, and can therefore be removed to cope with different configurations, particularly where paving meets walls or is laid in an offset pattern. No adhesives or fixings are required: the weight of the paving is sufficient to hold the installation firmly in place.
