1. Why should the Jouplast® isolation mat be used?
The Jouplast® isolation mat is designed to isolate the terrace riser pedestal from the substrate it stands on. Dimensionally stable, immovable and strong, the mat adapts to irregularities in the foundations, thereby distributing loads more evenly. It also improves structural stability and helps reduce vibration, impact noise and resonances. It is particularly useful for improving acoustic comfort and increasing terrace durability.
2. How to use the Jouplast® isolation mat?
The Jouplast® isolation mat should be inserted between the terrace riser pedestals and the substrate (paved or other solid surface, for example). It can also be used on waterproofed substrates. It is simply inserted under the riser pedestal before terrace construction. Several mats can be laid on top of each other where the extra thickness is needed to adjust the height or provide a greater level of insolation. Please note that these mats are suitable for outdoor use only and should not be used on aggregate surfaces.
