Fixego invisible fixing for wooden decking boards (25 mm thickness and more)

Fixego® is an innovative secret fastening system designed to enable natural timber decking boards to be laid with no visible screw heads. Fixego® provides an attractive, consistent finish and extends the life of your decking. UV, frost and pull-out resistant, it is particularly well suited to decking renovation projects and individual decking board replacement.

Fixego® must be used for timber decking projects where DTU 51.4 compliance is required. The fastening system is screwed directly to the joists. Once in place, it secures the decking boards and spaces them regularly, while facilitating free air circulation and rainwater drainage. We recommend the use of joists made from the same type of timber as the decking boards. Using Fixego® with flexible or unstable timbers, such as acacia, is not recommended. We also advise against using Fixego® with joists less than 45mm wide.

Fixego® can be used with all natural timber decking boards 25 mm thick or more. It is not suitable for use with composite decking boards nor flexible/unstable wood species, such as acacia. Before installation, we recommend that you check that the screws you plan to use are suitable for the type of timber, since some timbers, such as accoya, are not.

It takes around 10-15% longer to lay decking using Fixego® than using conventional methods. The fact that the initial preparation stage requires greater accuracy, explains why it takes a little longer. The time taken to prepare and install joists is the same.
